History

Headlands Tile was originally founded in 1987, and Bob took ownership in 1997. At one time, the business operated locations in Savannah, Hilton Head, and Charleston. Eventually, Bob made the decision to focus exclusively on the island location, allowing him to build a more personal, relationship-driven business.

Bob was an eclectic soul whose fun-loving personality naturally drew people into the shop. Under his leadership, Headlands flourished and became one of the premier flooring and tile destinations in the area.

As he began thinking about retirement, Bob knew he didn’t want the story of Headlands Tile to end. That’s where we come in. Although his sudden passing prevented the smooth transition we had hoped for, we remain committed to honoring his legacy. We work every day to provide the same—if not even better—experience that customers have trusted and enjoyed for nearly 40 years.
